Chocco Chimp is the eighteenth episode of the 2011 series of Sooty.

Plot[]

The prizes have disappeared from Mr Slater’s new crazy golf course, and Richard is puzzled. Before long, world famous detectives Sherlock Sooty and Doctor Watsit are called in to investigate, and set a trap to catch the thief who turns out to be their old friend, Matthew Corbett!

Trivia[]

Writers Alex Skerrat and Wink Taylor make appearances as golfers.
Indiana Sooty is a reference to the film character, "Indiana Jones".
It is not always Matthew in the gorilla suit.
This episode marks Matthew's first appearance since the final Sooty & Co. episode in 1998.
The moment when Matthew gets unmasked and says "And I would've gotten away with it if it weren't for you lot!" is most probably a reference to the "Scooby Doo" franchise.

Goofs[]

When Sherlock Sooty reaches over to push Richard's fingers onto the ink pad, the end of the puppet is briefly visible.
At the beginning when Sweep is dressed as a gorilla, Soo mentions the scene is set in the South American rainforest (Amazon), but gorillas are only native to the Congo Jungle in Africa.
