Neil Buchanan (born in Aintree, Liverpool, England, UK, October 11th, 1956) is a television presenter best known for presenting the long-running children's art programme Art Attack. He is also known as the character Smart Arty in the show ZZZap! which he also produced. He is co-founder of the production company The Media Merchants which produced the aforementioned programmes, his company was taken over by Britt Allcroft's Gullane Limited and then by HiT Entertainment in 2000. The company was closed in 2007 when ITV axed Art Attack. Neil appeared in the Sooty & Co. episode Sooty's Christmas Panto where he helped the gang make Christmas decorations for the yard.
