The Silent Movie is the twenty-third episode of the second series of Sooty.
Plot
When Sooty accidentally destroys one of Richard's old films, the gang decide to replace it with one they've made themselves. But will it be good enough to impress Mr Slater's grandchildren?

- "The Broom Handle" stars series director Adrian Hedley and production assistant and writer Wink Taylor.
Goofs
- The name "Cadells" appears on the park's entrance. In reality the park is owned by Richard and his brother David Cadell. On television, it is owned by Mr. Slater so Richard's surname shouldn't not appear on the sign, but Richard could be the licensee of the park, as Mr Slater isn't on location.
- Many of the shots seen in Sooty's final silent movie are different to what the puppets are seen filming earlier in the episode.
